Power of the Subconscious Mind

In the context of the Law of Attraction, the power of the subconscious mind is a major factor.

Every thing that you have experienced in life is recorded at the subconscious level. Every emotion, every belief, every judgment, every fear, every sense of happiness.

The power of the subconscious mind is always working.

It never sleeps. It is the control center for our emotions, our body functions, our motor skills. It keeps us breathing, our heart pumping, and all the other amazing functioning of the human body that we are not consciously aware of.

But there is also much more to the power of the subconscious mind.

It is our creative center. It is our connection to Source Energy. The power of the subconscious mind is that, what it accepts as truth is what you experience in the external world. If the subconscious mind believes money flows to you, it does. If it believes you are healthy, you are. If it believes you are attractive to others you are. If it believes the reverse of any of these, that is your experience.

The subconscious mind is like a computer operating system.

You are not aware of it, but it drives your computer to make it a useful tool for you. And just like a computer operating system, the subconscious can be programmed.

It is programmed through our daily experiences. It records the direction of those in authority. It records events that you have had, whether positive or negative. It records the emotions that you feel as you go through life.

This level of the mind is responsible for your abundance or your lack. Your health or your sickness. Your success or your failure. And everything flows from what was programmed into it.

If the world that we live in was an enlightened place.

It is obvious that the power of the subconscious mind would a wonderful positive creative tool. However, we were created to be very diverse entities. We are capable of enlightened actions and we are capable of lower level ego actions.

Humanity, at this point in its evolution, spends most of its time at the ego level. We were taught right and wrong by people functioning at the ego level. We were exposed to the bias of those with authority. Society spends much of its time judging and laying blame. The media scours the globe to bring us news on what is wrong.

And all of this negative information impacts the power of the subconscious mind. It gets programmed into the subconscious as truth. As the way life is. And life is that way because you believe it.

But you believe something else too.

Otherwise you would not be reading these words. You believe that there is a way to a higher life. You are searching for that way.

And the way is right where so many enlightened teachers have said it is. Jesus called it the kingdom of God within, later referred to as the kingdom of heaven. Dr. Joseph Murphy, Claude Bristol, Charles Haanel, and a great many more spelled out that the power of the subconscious mind was the creative force of our external world.

Once we accept that the power of the subconscious mind is real, what do we do about it?

First, we have to stop feeding it negative programming. A few years back I was receiving three daily newspapers. I phoned the newspaper administration to put in a vacation stop. As they normally do, they asked if I would like to donate my newspapers to students, while I was on vacation. And as a rule I would say yes. But this time I had been exploring the law of attraction. I had already stopped watching the news on the television. And so, when they asked me this time whether I wanted to donate my newspapers to students, it struck me that I did not want young people reading this negativity. I said no and actually cancelled the newspapers permanently.

Whenever possible I was avoiding negative people, negative situations, and negative thinking. This was not always possible. When I first started to do this it was a struggle to control negative thoughts. I would have one and then feel bad that I had allowed it into mind. By doing this I actually gave it even more power.

Now I acknowledge that I have an ego.

I acknowledge that I will have negative thoughts. Quite often just by recognizing it as ego, I am able to release the thought and the accompanying emotion. Sometimes the ego gets control and goes into a negative loop. I am able to almost look at it as something separate from me. When the ego runs out of steam, I relax and let go of the negativity that was a moment before spewing forth from my lower self. It's almost like watching a child throw a temper tantrum.

Also, when I started doing this I tended to be a lot less social.

I found that most social events involved someone expressing an opinion as to what was wrong with somebody else, or what was wrong with the system, or what was wrong with government and so forth.

In my seclusion, I actually became pretty good at manifesting abundance. But it struck me that I did not come into this life to hide away. And so I ventured forth. And yes my ability to manifest did suffer.

I had a sense that I could become a hermit and make millions of dollars. But I had another sense that I came to play the game of life. And so I continued my search for information and guidance.

I have acquired and used a great many resources.

Wealth Beyond Reason and EFT to name a couple.

There is one resource that I acquired years ago, that I have now incorporated into my daily life. The Sedona Method has a unique approach to releasing negativity. Not only negativity that is coming at me in the moment but also, the negativity that has been stored in my subconscious for years.

When someone is talking to me and telling me about the wrongness of the world, I am using it to let go of any negative emotions before they reach my subconscious.

Also, like the majority of humanity, I have spent most of my life functioning at the ego level.

Over that time I developed issues with other people and issues with myself. The way I had been dealing with these was to suppress them and keep them away from my ego. Once my ego got hold of them I was in for a negative spiral.

The issues were still there. They were hiding away in my subconscious and I was compensating for them with positive re-enforcing thoughts and emotions.

Much of what I had learned on my law of attraction path was to focus on positive thoughts. I agree with this for new input into the subconscious. But there was a lot of old baggage already in my mind, that I had to keep a lid on.

Then I started to use the Sedona Method.

And these thoughts and emotions that I had buried for decades started to come up. I used the Sedona techniques to release them. There had been events in my life that I would not allow into my conscious thought. The anger and the pain associated with them would drag me down to a very low level. I now look at these events with virtually no emotion. I have a sense of lightness of mind.

Needless to say, I put the Sedona Method at the top of my list of resources to aid in accessing the power of the subconscious mind.
