Higher Consciousness

One of the most effective ways to use the law of attraction is to align with higher consciousness.

What is higher consciousness and how do you get there?

If you have ever experienced it, you know that you will want to experience it again. It is a feeling of complete letting go. Of all is right with the world. Of not having to make things happen. Of not having to judge, control, or hold others accountable. It has been described as bliss.

If you could draw a line in your consciousness, you could lump everything below the line together and call it ego. The ego encompasses emotions such as blame, judgment, anger, fear, intolerance, revenge, hate, low self esteem, want, doubt, worry, jealousy, and lack. This is not a complete list but you get the idea.

Above the line in consciousness, you are entering higher consciousness. You realize that there is an intelligence and guidance that transcends the dramas of the ego. You will still be doing things but you are not overly concerned about making some outcome happen. Life just is. There is no drama. Its not your role to make things happen. And actually you will find that the more you are at the level of higher consciousness, the less ability you have to make things happen. To succeed you have to let them happen. By this I mean you recognize that the external world does not have the power. That the power flows from higher source and that you are connected to the power through your higher consciousness. When you try to make things happen you are going to the level of the ego. And the more time that you spend above the line, the less power the ego has. And the more that you try to make things happen at the level of the ego, the faster you will fail and the greater the impact to you.

Abraham Hicks likened this to driving your car and running into a tree. If you are driving at 10 mph and run into a tree, there will be a lot less damage than if you were driving at 100 mph. Once you start functioning at the level of higher consciousness, both the positive and negative are intensified in the external world.

Lester Levenson said that humanity is now at point in evolution where the physical will not work as it has in the past. I interpret this to mean that humanity as a whole is being guided away from the ego and to a higher power.

As I watched my own life unfold, I started looking at it as a funnel, with a wide opening at one end and tapering down to a very small opening. At the wide end I was living my life mostly at the ego level. I could make things happen but in a limited way. The more time I spent at a higher level, the more life flowed to me, but also the greater the impact when I sank to the level of the ego. What worked for me before, no longer worked. The walls of the funnel are like the ego based external world. Every time I try to make something happen, I hit the wall and fail. As long as I allow life to flow and do not push, life is effortless. It is like driving your car at a 500 mph but keeping it on the road.

The more time that you spend at the higher level, the more sensitive you will become to the ego. You will have a thought or an emotion, and you will immediately realize that you are at the lower level. When you realize you are at a lower level, most of the time, you will be able to raise your vibration. However, there are times when you just can't do it. And so, you just have to ride it out. It will be like watching a separate entity. Your ego is in control and you are having thoughts and emotions that do not serve you or anyone else. But these will pass. And when they do, do not dwell on them. Move on. To dwell on them is just giving the ego more power.

Actually, you will find that sometimes it will be like watching yourself, as if you were a separate entity at the higher level. You will be watching events unfold and realize that it is not you. You are doing the doing, but you are not making the decision as to what is being done. At these times you will realize that you are in a positive flow. You will be feeling calm, alert, light, and happy. You are connected to higher power. Your actions flow from a feeling rather than a thought process.

In order to raise your consciousness, you have to let the ego go. That means forgiving your enemies, yourself, and everyone else. If you stand in judgment of someone functioning at the level of their ego, know that you are functioning at the level of your ego.

At all times you must love yourself unconditionally. It does not matter what your ego has done or will do or didn't do. Only your ego will stand in judgment of you and you probably have had enough of wallowing at that level.

There is only one opinion that counts. That is your own. Think well of others. Think well of yourself. What you think of yourself and others is important. What someone else thinks of you is not. Only your ego is concerned about what other egos think of it. You cannot live your life trying to please other people's egos. If you do, you will be trapped at the level of your own ego.

Whatever your present circumstances accept them. If you want something different, use the law of attraction process, and turn it over to a higher power. If you are functioning at a higher consciousness, you will be sensitive to the guidance that will be forthcoming. It is a calm knowing, as to what action to take. It is not knee jerk reaction.

Once you have experienced higher consciousness, you will know that is where you wish to spend your life.
