Emotional Freedom Technique And The Law of Attraction

What is the Emotional Freedom Technique (commonly referred to as EFT) and what are its benefits?

Carol Look, an EFT Master, identifies the technique as being an effective means to address the following issues:

  • Abundance
  • Addictions
  • Clutter
  • Improved eyesight
  • Improved sports participation
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Being overwhelmed
  • Pain control
  • Phobias
  • Trauma
  • Weight loss

EFT has its roots in the Chinese practice of acupuncture. A major difference in the two is that acupuncture uses needles on the body's energy centers, while EFT uses touch.

Acupuncture was originally developed to address physical issues. EFT was developed to address emotional issues. That being said EFT has grown to encompass both.

In the early development of EFT, it was found that fears would dissolve when tapping on certain points in the body. From this discovery, it has evolved into a process for releasing a multitude of physical and emotional ailments.

The history of EFT can be traced back decades. The process of using touch rather than needles appears to have been discovered in the early 1960's. It evolved as different people found that it could be used to address various issues.

In the 1980's, Dr. Roger Callahan, an American psychologist, developed a system of tapping energy points to help his patients. Dr. Callahan specialized in anxiety disorders. He began to teach his system to others. One of his students was Gary Craig. Craig was trained to be an engineer and at the time of meeting Dr. Callahan was providing personal coaching.

The Emotional Freedom Technique

In the 1990's, Gary Craig took what he learned and developed what is now referred to as the Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT. His system has been embraced all over the world.

Carol Look One of his students was Dr. Carol Look. Her professional background is that of a clinical social worker with a doctoral degree in clinical hypnotherapy. Once introduced to EFT, it became her life's work. She has been a strong advocate for EFT. She has appeared in documentaries on the subject. As well, her work has included radio host, author, speaker and presenter, teacher, and developer of EFT programs and services.

What has most intrigued me about Carol Look is that she has merged the Emotional Freedom Technique with the Law of Attraction.

One of the biggest blocks to using the Law of Attraction, is the inability to let go. People have desires that they attempt to manifest by using the Law of Attraction. But they get in their own way. They can't let go. In other words their vibration is one of not having their desire. Therefore it becomes impossible to attain it.

Carol Look addresses the issue of letting go. Through EFT, she shows how to remove the resistance to acquiring wealth, health, and happiness.

Her book, "Attracting Abundance with EFT" has been well received by those seeking information on how to use the technique effectively.
